Director of Engineering, Platform & DevOps

Responsibilities

• Build and lead a large team of tech leads and engineers
• Own the Platform & DevOps strategy and multi-quarter roadmap
• Set technical direction for build/release, infrastructure automation, and Kubernetes/EKS runtime
• Enforce security-by-design including SCA/SAST/DAST and secrets management
• Direct the design and operations of secure AWS platforms using IaC
• Define SLOs/error budgets and oversee incident response
• Manage platform budgets, forecasts, and FinOps practices

Requirements

• Bachelor's in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
• 12+ years in Platform/SRE/DevOps/Infrastructure
• 5+ years leading tech leads or multiple teams
• Proven track record delivering secure, cross-team platforms
• Experience with SOC2 compliance
• Proficiency in Python and Bash
• Deep AWS experience (EKS, ECS, EC2, RDS, DynamoDB, IAM, VPC)
• Expertise in IaC (Terraform preferred)
• Experience with observability at scale and incident management
• Strong executive communication and budget management skills

Preferred Qualifications

• AWS DevOps Engineer Professional or AWS Solutions Architect certifications
• Experience with data/streaming platforms like Databricks or Kafka
• Experience with vendor consolidation and contract negotiation
