Director of Engineering, Loyalty & Promos

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow multiple engineering teams delivering reliable, scalable, and cost-effective software
• Partner with Product and Platform leaders to shape priorities, sequencing, and technical strategy
• Own domain strategy and execution, ensuring decisions scale across adjacent domains
• Build organizational health by attracting, developing, and retaining engineering talent
• Drive operational excellence with clear reliability, performance, and cost goals
• Optimize developer experience by establishing DX goals and removing friction in tools and processes
• Resolve architectural contention and guide teams toward pragmatic, maintainable solutions
• Communicate outcomes and organizational health via KPIs and metrics to executives

Requirements

• 10+ years in software engineering
• 5+ years leading leaders (managing engineering managers)
• Proven ability to lead multiple teams and set engineering quality standards
• Strong architecture and system design skills
• Deep backend and distributed systems experience
• Strong judgment on prioritization and resourcing
• Excellent communication and cross-functional leadership skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in fast-paced, high-growth startup environments
• Experience with Kotlin and Kotlin MP
• Extensive experience leading cross-functional matrixed teams for complex initiatives
