Director of Engineering, Infrastructure & Platform

Responsibilities

• Lead and scale multiple engineering teams across Cloud Infrastructure, Platform, Data Platform, and Internal Tooling
• Define and own the platform and infrastructure strategy for scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency
• Serve as a senior technical leader influencing architecture for large-scale distributed systems
• Partner with Product, Security, Finance, and Executive Leadership to align investments with company goals
• Drive execution excellence by evolving processes and ensuring predictable delivery
• Build, mentor, and retain high-performing engineering leaders and individual contributors
• Own hiring strategy and workforce planning for the organization
• Shape and strengthen engineering culture through standards and mentorship

Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience with deep expertise in distributed systems
• 5+ years of engineering leadership experience, including managing managers
• Experience leading organizations responsible for critical production infrastructure at high-growth startups
• Strong hands-on understanding of large-scale distributed systems and cloud infrastructure
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to operate with ambiguity and drive initiatives end-to-end

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Java, Kubernetes, AWS, multi-region, and multi-cloud environments
• Experience with developer platforms or API products
• Experience in crypto, blockchain, or adjacent infrastructure markets
• Previous founder or startup leadership experience
