Director of Engineering

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the technical vision and strategy for scalable, distributed, and high-performance systems
• Lead design discussions and architectural reviews to ensure robust and secure systems
• Manage and grow a team of engineers, including senior and principal engineers
• Partner with product, data, and AI/ML teams to align technical execution with business priorities
• Ensure timely, high-quality delivery of critical projects
• Coach and develop engineering managers and senior engineers
• Champion the adoption of modern technologies in cloud, SaaS, and AI/ML

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience in SaaS product companies
• 4+ years of experience in people management leading engineering teams
• Proven expertise in system design, distributed systems, and cloud-native architectures
• Hands-on ability to guide technical choices in Python, Node.js, or similar
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in high-growth startups or rapidly scaling organizations
• Exposure to AI/ML systems, LLMs, or agentic architectures
• Contributions to open-source projects or technical thought leadership
