Director of Endowment & Gift Fund Strategy

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and oversight of the College’s endowment and restricted gift portfolio to ensure effective growth and stewardship.
• Establish and oversee policies governing endowed and restricted funds, ensuring compliance with donor intent and institutional standards.
• Partner with gift officers to structure and optimize new endowed funds and major gifts in alignment with institutional priorities.
• Oversee the strategy for the equitable and compliant distribution of endowed scholarship funds.
• Direct the development of a comprehensive stewardship and reporting strategy, including impact reports and financial summaries for donors.
• Lead cross-functional collaboration between Institutional Advancement, Business & Finance, and Academic Programs.
• Oversee the integrity of data related to endowments and implement reporting tools to support decision-making.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• 2–5 years of progressively responsible experience in advancement services, endowment management, finance, or nonprofit administration.
• Demonstrated expertise in managing restricted funds, endowments, or complex financial portfolios.
• Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex financial concepts into compelling narratives.
• Familiarity with advancement CRMs and financial reporting tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree (e.g., MBA, MPA, or related field).
• 5 to 10 years of experience in higher education or a complex nonprofit environment.
• Prior experience managing staff and leading teams.
• Experience supporting campaign planning, major gifts, or donor strategy.
