Red 6 is an innovative Augmented Reality (AR) technology startup leading the way in synthetic air combat training. Our primary technology enables pilots to simulate the cognitive challenges of flying while accessing realistic, scalable training in dynamic outdoor environments.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the electrical engineering strategy aligned with product roadmaps
• Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing electrical engineering team
• Provide architectural and design guidance for complex mixed-signal, high-speed digital, and power systems
• Drive close co-design between electrical and mechanical domains for optimal integration
• Oversee schematic design, PCB layout, bring-up, validation, and environmental qualification (EMI/EMC, vibration, DO-160)
• Partner with Manufacturing and Supply Chain to transition designs from prototype to production
• Represent the electrical engineering discipline in design reviews and customer briefings

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
• 12+ years of progressive experience in electrical hardware design
• 5+ years of experience leading engineering teams
• Proven track record in aerospace, defense, or similarly regulated environments
• Expertise in high-speed digital and mixed-signal design (FPGA/SoC, DDR, PCIe, Ethernet)
• Experience with power system design and ruggedized hardware
• Experience with environmental and EMI/EMC qualification testing (DO-160, MIL standards)
• U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree (MS/PhD) in Electrical Engineering
• Experience in augmented reality, avionics, or sensor fusion
• Proficiency with Altium, Zuken E3, CATIA Electrical, SPICE, or MATLAB/Simulink
• Knowledge of model-based design or digital-twin methodologies
