About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead a regional distribution team of over 200 employees, including managers, supervisors, mechanics, and drivers.
- Manage the regional distribution budget and drive execution of standard operating procedures and performance standards.
- Own regional safety and compliance initiatives, including conducting audits, assessments, and accident investigations.
- Oversee fleet maintenance programs to ensure regulatory compliance and optimize equipment utilization.
- Drive continuous improvement efforts in logistics, fleet functions, and operational efficiency through data analysis.
- Collaborate with procurement, customer service, and HR on vendor management and labor relations.
- Champion the adoption of new safety and efficiency technologies across all sites.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Operations, Engineering, or 10+ years of related transportation industry experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in transportation, logistics, or fleet management.
- 5+ years of experience overseeing tractor-trailer preventive and corrective maintenance programs.
- 5+ years of experience managing and sourcing critical spare parts inventories.
- 5+ years of people leadership experience managing diverse teams.
- Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and HAZMAT transportation requirements.
- Willingness to travel 20%–40%, including overnight travel.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in liquid bulk tanker transportation.
- Advanced analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Proficiency with technology platforms supporting driver safety, compliance, and fleet maintenance.
