Director of Development

Responsibilities

• Design and implement a comprehensive multi-year development strategy integrating annual, major, planned, and institutional giving
• Launch and grow the Annual Fund and oversee the Flywheel Initiative leadership donor program
• Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major donors in partnership with the Executive Director and Board
• Lead foundation, corporate, and grant strategies, including proposal management and reporting
• Build and manage robust donor relationship management systems and CRM dashboards
• Support the transition from a founder-funded model to a community-supported nonprofit framework
• Develop capital campaign readiness and implement planned giving strategies to support endowment growth

Requirements

• 5–10+ years of professional fundraising experience
• Proven track record of success in securing major gifts
• Exceptional communication, strategic planning, and relationship-building skills
• High emotional intelligence and ability to navigate complex stakeholder relationships
• Experience working within small organizations is preferred
