About the role
Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of prospects and donors to ensure timely cultivation and solicitation of major gifts
- Develop and implement strategies to increase the size and number of gifts from individuals and organizations
- Research and supervise research on potential donors and funding sources for the university
- Collaborate with the Institutional Advancement team to plan and evaluate major gift strategies and advancement campaigns
- Coordinate specific major donor relations events and develop fundraising stewardship activities
- Draft gift proposals and donor agreements for major gifts
- Maintain a current database of prospects and complete regular fundraising reports
- Develop comprehensive planned giving outreach and marketing strategies
- Represent the University at special events and participate in special projects as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required (Master's degree preferred)
- Minimum of five years of fundraising or related development experience
- Background in higher education or a non-profit environment
- Proven record of successfully securing major gifts
- Strong knowledge of Blackbaud Raiser's Edge software
- Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and travel as necessary

- Experience in capital campaigns
- Relevant professional credentials in fundraising or development
