Director of Development

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of prospects and donors to ensure timely cultivation and solicitation of major gifts
• Develop and implement strategies to increase the size and number of gifts from individuals and organizations
• Research and supervise research on potential donors and funding sources for the university
• Collaborate with the Institutional Advancement team to plan and evaluate major gift strategies and advancement campaigns
• Coordinate specific major donor relations events and develop fundraising stewardship activities
• Draft gift proposals and donor agreements for major gifts
• Maintain a current database of prospects and complete regular fundraising reports
• Develop comprehensive planned giving outreach and marketing strategies
• Represent the University at special events and participate in special projects as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required (Master's degree preferred)
• Minimum of five years of fundraising or related development experience
• Background in higher education or a non-profit environment
• Proven record of successfully securing major gifts
• Strong knowledge of Blackbaud Raiser's Edge software
• Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and travel as necessary

• Experience in capital campaigns
• Relevant professional credentials in fundraising or development
