Director of Development

Responsibilities

• Execute annual giving strategies across various constituencies, including alumni, parents, and corporate partners.
• Design and manage appeal campaigns such as fall, year-end, and fiscal year-end appeals.
• Manage a portfolio of lead annual and mid-major donors using moves management strategies.
• Support and implement peer-to-peer digital fundraising campaigns, including Giving Day.
• Lead stewardship efforts, including thank-you strategies, impact reporting, and donor recognition events.
• Partner with marketing and communications to develop fundraising messaging and campaign assets.
• Track and report on fundraising performance, donor participation, and retention rates.
• Maintain accurate donor records and manage student workers within the department.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 7-10 years of professional development experience.
• Demonstrated success in individual and corporate giving.
• Proven experience with moves management (identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship).
• Experience with digital and peer-to-peer fundraising, including website promotions and giving days.
• Proficiency with fundraising data management systems; experience with Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge NXT is highly desirable.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree.
• Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) designation.
