Director of Data Governance

Responsibilities

• Define and implement the organization's data governance strategy and operating model.
• Establish a federated governance model across Product, Technology, and PRA teams.
• Define data quality standards and implement monitoring, reporting, and controls.
• Develop and maintain enterprise taxonomies, ontology models, business glossaries, and data catalogues.
• Partner with Product and Technology teams to embed governance into data platforms and pipelines.
• Shape data governance approaches for emerging AI and machine learning capabilities.
• Ensure data management aligns with contractual obligations, licensing agreements, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Significant experience in Data Governance, Data Management, or a closely related field.
• Proven experience designing and implementing governance frameworks within complex organizations.
• Experience working with modern data platforms such as Snowflake or Databricks.
• Experience supporting AI, machine learning, or generative AI governance initiatives.
• Strong knowledge of metadata management, data catalogues, and data lineage.
• Experience influencing and partnering with technical, commercial, and executive stakeholders.
• Expertise in establishing data quality standards and accountability frameworks.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience within data-rich sectors such as Market Intelligence, Commodity Data, or Financial Services.
• Knowledge of semantic modelling and knowledge graph concepts.
• Experience governing commercial data products and subscription information services.
