Director of Data, Automation, and Intelligence Services

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and management of enterprise data infrastructure and analytics platforms
• Oversee data pipelines, data modeling, and reporting solutions to support institutional decision-making
• Direct the design and implementation of integrations across enterprise applications
• Lead the development of automated workflows to improve operational efficiency
• Oversee the delivery of dashboards, reports, and analytical tools for academic and administrative units
• Evaluate and implement AI-enabled tools and solutions to enhance decision-making
• Lead, coach, and develop a multidisciplinary team of data engineers, analysts, and integration specialists
• Serve as a key liaison between Information Technology Services and university academic and administrative units

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field
• 7–10 years of progressive experience in data, analytics, integration, or related IT functions
• Proven experience leading data engineering, business intelligence, or enterprise integration initiatives
• Strong understanding of data architecture, reporting platforms, and automation tools
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams and collaborate with both technical and nontechnical stakeholders
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a related field
• Experience in higher education or similarly complex organizations
• Experience with data platforms, ETL/ELT processes, and analytics tools
• Familiarity with integration technologies such as APIs and middleware
• Experience with AI/advanced analytics tools and governance considerations
• Experience with enterprise reporting and data visualization platforms
