Director of Data and Metrics

Responsibilities

• Oversee measurements of Commerce outputs and outcomes through quantitative and qualitative analysis
• Perform data wrangling and coordinate unit data entry for quarterly reporting
• Build capacity via digital tools and Quickbase applications to track program data
• Prepare and distribute legally required reports, including annual Commerce reports
• Facilitate data integration with the City’s Office of Innovation and Technology
• Represent the Department on regional economic research steering committees

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative subject (statistics, economics, applied mathematics, etc.)
• 4-6 years of professional experience in data extraction, analysis, and communication
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
• Ability to translate complex data into charts, tables, and narrative reports
• Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
• Must become a Philadelphia resident within six months of hire

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Quickbase
• Experience extracting data from multiple city systems and research platforms
