Director of Cross Country & Track and Field

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight for all aspects of the Men's and Women's Cross Country and Track and Field programs
• Recruit, enroll, and retain academically qualified and competitively successful student-athletes
• Develop and implement comprehensive recruiting strategies in collaboration with Admissions and Athletics
• Coach and mentor student-athletes to support their athletic, academic, and personal development
• Manage program operations including scheduling, travel, equipment, uniforms, and supplies
• Prepare and manage the annual operating budget for recruiting, equipment, and travel
• Recruit, hire, supervise, and evaluate assistant coaches and program staff
• Execute fundraising initiatives to support departmental and institutional goals
• Ensure program compliance with Alma College, MIAA, and NCAA Division III rules and regulations

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree
• Minimum of 4 years of collegiate coaching experience or successful high school head coaching experience
• Knowledge of NCAA and MIAA conference rules
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree
• Previous experience at an NCAA Division III institution
• Experience working with underrepresented, first-generation, and diverse student populations
