Director of Core Platform Engineering

Responsibilities

• Own Arcade’s mission-critical commerce and operations infrastructure end-to-end
• Architect and implement horizontally scalable microservices and clean APIs
• Manage the end-to-end order fulfillment pipeline across a global supply chain
• Develop a real-time dynamic pricing engine for diverse product categories
• Oversee infrastructure for large-scale AI inference workloads, including batching and auto-scaling
• Own the client SDK and integration layer for developer applications

Requirements

• 8+ years of backend engineering experience building production systems at scale
• Proven experience with commerce or marketplace infrastructure (order management, fulfillment, or payments)
• Strong systems design instincts regarding APIs, schemas, and service boundaries
• Ability to thrive in high-ambiguity, fast-moving environments
• Experience scaling systems from 0-1 and 1-100

Preferred Qualifications

• Expert-level proficiency in TypeScript and/or Python
• Familiarity with scaled GPU inference infrastructure
• Background in multi-tenant SaaS, subscription/metering systems, or volume pricing engines
• Interest in design, art, or physical goods
