Director of Construction

Responsibilities

• Own construction program performance across the national MILCON portfolio, including schedule, budget, quality, safety, and compliance
• Set strategic direction for MILCON operations, resource deployment, and risk management
• Serve as the senior construction authority for DoD contracting authorities such as USACE and NAVFAC
• Build and lead a national team of Senior Construction Managers, Superintendents, and Quality Control Managers
• Lead constructability reviews and develop construction master schedules
• Oversee QA/QC programs in compliance with UFC, UFGS, and USACE/NAVFAC requirements
• Drive safety program enforcement in compliance with EM 385-1-1
• Ensure all operations comply with FAR, DFARS, and other DoD standards

Requirements

• 15+ years of construction management experience with federal or military leadership
• 8+ years of direct experience managing MILCON or federal projects as a prime or major subcontractor
• Deep knowledge of FAR, DFARS, UFC, UFGS, and EM 385-1-1
• Proven track record of delivering federal projects on time and within budget
• Ability to travel extensively to project sites across the United States
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience scaling national construction operations in a Design-Build environment
• Direct experience with USACE or NAVFAC-administered MILCON programs
• Active Secret security clearance or eligibility to obtain one
• Experience integrating innovative construction technologies like 3D printing or modular systems
• Professional certifications such as PMP, CCM, PE, or RA
