Director of Compliance

Responsibilities

• Oversee client mandates and ensure industry-leading regulatory compliance and AML/CTF programs across Abu Dhabi and the wider UAE
• Act as the primary contact with ADGM/FSRA and monitor regulatory changes
• Serve as MLRO, implementing AML/CTF controls and overseeing client onboarding, CDD/EDD, and monitoring
• Develop and update internal compliance policies, procedures, and risk assessments
• Drive business development by converting existing company relationships into new business opportunities
• Conduct internal and external audits, compliance reviews, and spot checks
• Develop and deliver compliance and AML/CTF training for staff and clients
• Communicate compliance risks and obligations to senior management and stakeholders

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Accounting, or Economics from a leading university
• 10+ years of overall industry experience
• 8+ years of direct compliance experience within the financial services industry
• Significant, demonstrable experience dealing with regulatory authorities in the UAE and the wider MENA region
• Proven experience creating and implementing regulatory compliance programs

Preferred Qualifications

• CAMS, CISI, or ICA certifications
