Director of College Counseling

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive college advising and alumni support program
• Manage college counselors and seminar teachers in executing advising programs
• Research and maintain long-term relationships within the college admissions arena
• Develop a strong college-going culture campus-wide through stakeholder collaboration
• Manage registration and supervision for standardized tests including PSAT, SAT, and ASVAB
• Monitor campus College Initiatives goals including college lists, applications, and financial aid
• Coach the team to guide students and families through the college search and enrollment process
• Plan and execute campus events such as parent nights, career fairs, and graduation
• Ensure all students are on-track to graduate by evaluating student transcripts

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year institution
• 3-5 years of experience in college counseling, access, or admissions
• Experience managing a team or leading adults
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Strong analytical and communication skills
• Experience using data to drive decisions
• Ability to work outside normal hours and on weekends
• Commitment to the mission of YES Prep Public Schools

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s Degree
• Counseling certification
• Instructional experience
• Experience working in a school setting
• Fluency in Spanish
