Director of Claims

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the claims and recovery strategy aligned with risk appetite and business objectives
• Lead management of complex and high-value claims including insolvency, restructuring, and litigation
• Oversee the end-to-end claims lifecycle to optimize efficiency and loss ratios
• Develop and implement recovery strategies through negotiations, settlements, and legal actions
• Integrate claims insights with Underwriting, Risk, and Finance teams
• Conduct solvency and financial analysis of debtors to guide decisions
• Drive continuous improvement through process optimization and data analytics
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal governance
• Manage relationships with external legal partners and regulators
• Build and lead a high-performing claims team

Requirements

• Law degree with active OAB (Brazilian Bar Association) membership
• Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in claims management
• At least 5 years of senior leadership experience managing teams
• Mandatory expertise in solvency analysis and financial statement evaluation
• Advanced English proficiency
• Intermediate Spanish proficiency
• Deep knowledge of credit risk, recovery processes, and regulatory standards

Preferred Qualifications

• Background in global credit insurance companies
• Experience in banking, trade finance, or corporate credit risk analysis
• Exposure to large corporate portfolios and cross-border claims
• Knowledge of SUSEP requirements
