Director of Central Pharmacy

Responsibilities

• Develop and update policies and procedures for Central Pharmacy operational control, quality assurance, and occupational safety
• Maintain an accurate, up-to-date inventory of biological and pharmaceutical agents and product price listings
• Monitor hospital dispensaries to ensure they are stocked and operated efficiently
• Supervise pharmacy technicians and work-study students, ensuring duties align with standard practices
• Instruct students in areas such as prescription writing, drug calculations, and inventory maintenance in collaboration with clinicians
• Ensure strict compliance with all local, state, and Alabama State Board of Pharmacy laws and regulations

Requirements

• PharmD or equivalent degree
• Minimum of one year of clinical experience in a retail or institutional pharmacy setting
• Strong knowledge of pharmacy laws and regulations
• Proven ability to develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
