About the role
Responsibilities
- Develop and update policies and procedures for Central Pharmacy operational control, quality assurance, and occupational safety
- Maintain an accurate, up-to-date inventory of biological and pharmaceutical agents and product price listings
- Monitor hospital dispensaries to ensure they are stocked and operated efficiently
- Supervise pharmacy technicians and work-study students, ensuring duties align with standard practices
- Instruct students in areas such as prescription writing, drug calculations, and inventory maintenance in collaboration with clinicians
- Ensure strict compliance with all local, state, and Alabama State Board of Pharmacy laws and regulations
Requirements
- PharmD or equivalent degree
- Minimum of one year of clinical experience in a retail or institutional pharmacy setting
- Strong knowledge of pharmacy laws and regulations
- Proven ability to develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
