Director of Career and Life Planning

Responsibilities

• Develop, lead, and coordinate career-related activities and services for undergraduate programs and the campus community.
• Facilitate career exploration and job preparation skills through one-on-one counseling and group sessions.
• Cultivate and expand internship and employment opportunities, aiming for annual growth in student participation.
• Manage the Handshake platform to maintain a database of opportunities for students and alumni.
• Oversee the community service work-study program and ensure students meet financial aid requirements.
• Administer the employment agreement process for graduate student internships.
• Organize and deliver presentations on career and life planning topics.
• Evaluate program effectiveness by analyzing attendance, engagement, and satisfaction metrics.

Requirements

• Master’s degree required.
• 5-7 years of experience working in college career and life planning or a similar field.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience teaching in higher education.
• Superior verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Proven ability to develop collaborative relationships with campus and off-campus stakeholders.
• Strong public speaking skills with the ability to motivate audiences.
• Strong organizational and program management skills.
• Knowledge of career and student development theory.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
