Director of Career and Life Planning

Responsibilities

• Develop, lead, and coordinate career-related activities and services for undergraduate programs and the campus community.
• Facilitate career exploration and job preparation skills through group sessions and one-on-one counseling.
• Cultivate internship and employment opportunities, aiming to increase undergraduate participation by 10% annually.
• Manage and expand the database of opportunities on the Handshake platform to increase utilization rates.
• Oversee the community service and federal work-study programs, ensuring students meet financial aid requirements.
• Administer the employment agreement process for graduate student internships.
• Organize and deliver presentations on career and life planning topics and evaluate their impact through metrics.
• Collaborate with faculty, staff, and external community partners to integrate career services across the college.

Requirements

• Master’s degree required.
• 5-7 years of experience working in college career and life planning or a similar field.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience teaching in higher education.
• Strong knowledge of career and student development theory.
• Superior interpersonal, public speaking, and communication skills.
• Proven ability to develop collaborative relationships with campus and off-campus constituencies.
• Strong organizational and program management skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
