Director of Care

Responsibilities

• Facilitate and promote Resident choice and Resident-centered care
• Assist with hiring, performance management, and team development
• Maintain high standards of care aligning with policies and Retirement Home regulations
• Oversee Resident care needs and manage care programs, services, and fees
• Support IPAC and quality improvement initiatives
• Review falls and incidents to implement risk minimization strategies
• Support marketing teams through timely resident assessments
• Lead the Resident Care Team in developing departmental goals and policies
• Manage scheduling and staffing patterns
• Collaborate effectively within an interdisciplinary team

Requirements

• Registered RPN with the College of Nurses of Ontario
• 3-5 years of experience managing or supervising staff in a unionized environment
• Experience working with seniors and the geriatric population
• Strong ability to manage a budget
• Valid CPR and First Aid certification
• Working knowledge of risk and quality management principles
• Understanding of Resident-centered care, Resident rights, and RHA 2010
• Proficiency in YARDI, MedeCare, and Windows-related programs
