Director of Campus Life and Recreation

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for student engagement, campus traditions, student organizations, and leadership development.
• Oversee campus-wide programming, including orientation, homecoming, and wellness initiatives.
• Manage the Student Recreation Center (SRC), including intramural sports, fitness programs, and facility scheduling.
• Supervise the Assistant Director of Campus Life, Health and Wellness Coordinator, and various student employees.
• Advise the Student Government Association (SGA) and the Campus Activities Board (CAB).
• Develop and implement co-curricular experiences that support student success, persistence, and retention.
• Manage departmental budgets and ensure responsible stewardship of institutional resources.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum of three years of progressively responsible experience in student affairs, campus activities, recreation, or related higher education areas.
• Proven experience supervising professional and student staff.
• Experience planning, implementing, and assessing student engagement initiatives.
• Demonstrated commitment to student development, belonging, and student success.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, Recreation Administration, or a related field.
• Five or more years of experience in higher education student affairs.
• Experience with student engagement software and assessment platforms.
• Experience with club sports, outdoor pursuits, and diverse programming initiatives.
• Certifications such as CPR, AED, First Aid, or personal training.
