Director of Buying

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute buying strategies to curate trend-driven product assortments for the women's division
• Conduct market research and trend forecasting to ensure a competitive and forward-thinking product mix
• Lead pricing negotiations with suppliers to optimize margins and maintain product quality
• Manage weekly sales performance, open-to-buy budgets, and inventory levels to meet financial targets
• Partner with production, replenishment, planning, and creative teams to ensure timely deliveries and cohesive launches
• Utilize sales data and market insights to continuously optimize product assortments
• Train, develop, and mentor the buying team to ensure departmental goals are met
• Develop and maintain profitable and productive partnerships with vendors

Requirements

• BFA or BA in Fashion Merchandising, Business, or a related field
• 15+ years of Apparel Buying/Merchandising experience, ideally in an eCommerce environment
• 5+ years of experience in a buying leadership role
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• A keen eye for design, trends, and color
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, constantly changing environment
• Results-oriented mindset

• Experience in product development
• Experience specifically within the women's dresses category
