About the role

About the Company

Red 6 is an innovative Augmented Reality (AR) technology startup leading the way in synthetic air combat training. Our primary technology, supporting our ATARS product, enables pilots to simulate the cognitive challenges of flying while accessing realistic, scalable training in dynamic outdoor environments.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive Navy BD strategy that aligns with corporate growth goals
  • Shape and influence requirements early in the acquisition cycle
  • Manage the full BD lifecycle including opportunity identification, capture strategy, and proposal support
  • Establish and maintain trusted relationships with Navy decision-makers and industry partners
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product, engineering, and leadership teams
  • Deliver weekly staff updates and quarterly progress reports
  • Contribute to the evolution of BD processes including CRM and proposal workflows

Requirements

  • 5+ years in a business development leadership role
  • 20+ years in the U.S. Navy, preferably retired Commander rank or higher
  • Demonstrated success in capturing large-scale Navy contracts
  • Strong knowledge of Navy acquisition programs, POM processes, and contracting vehicles
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance (U.S. Citizenship required)
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in modeling & simulation, flight training, or LVC systems
  • Familiarity with Shipley capture methodology
  • Experience with SBIR and traditional FAR-based proposal management
  • Technical fluency with AR, XR, and LVC systems
