About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of the Athletic Communications office and implement a comprehensive plan to enhance Bluejay Athletics brand exposure.
  • Serve as the official media contact and manage communications across social media, local/national media, and campus channels.
  • Maintain the Elmhurst University Athletics website and oversee all statistical compilation and reporting to the Conference and NCAA.
  • Produce gameday programs, news releases, video content, and game recaps for all NCAA DIII varsity programs.
  • Supervise and train the Athletic Communications Graduate Assistant and student employees/interns.
  • Coordinate photography and video content, soliciting freelance coverage when necessary.
  • Design and produce printed and online promotional materials aligned with university design standards.
  • Manage the office operations budget and all print needs for the athletic department.
  • Travel with athletic teams occasionally, specifically for postseason contests.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in sports management, journalism, marketing, communications, public relations, or a related field.
  • 2-3 years of experience in a related role.
  • Strong knowledge of NCAA Division III intercollegiate athletics and statistics keeping.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with strong editing abilities and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in computer word processing and the ability to learn statistics programs.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to support athletic events.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects under strict deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with photography, videography, and video editing.
  • Experience in a collegiate athletic communications environment.
