Director of Accounting

Responsibilities

• Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process to achieve a five-business-day close
• Oversee general ledger, account reconciliations, accounts receivable, payroll, financial controls, audits, and US GAAP compliance
• Monitor balance sheet health and maintain a real-time view of working capital position
• Drive continuous improvement by standardizing processes and identifying automation opportunities
• Lead the accounting team's migration from Dynamics GP to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
• Leverage technology including Power BI and Power Automate to improve efficiency and data integrity
• Lead, coach, and develop the accounting team while fostering a culture of accountability
• Partner with Finance leadership to deliver accurate financial reporting and variance analysis
• Collaborate with Operations, HR, and Sales to improve billing, payroll, and client-related workflows

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience including leadership responsibility
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls
• Hands-on experience with a modern cloud ERP system
• Advanced Excel skills including building tools and models
• Proven track record of designing and improving accounting processes

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA designation
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
• Experience leading ERP implementations or migrations
• Familiarity with QuickBase, Power BI, or Power Automate
• Experience in a professional services or healthcare services environment
