About the role

Responsibilities

  • Oversee post-award accounting and financial reporting for sponsored programs, including federal and state awards
  • Prepare and submit the University’s Schedule of Expenditures of Federal Awards (SEFA) and State Projects
  • Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with Uniform Guidance and OMB regulations
  • Lead, supervise, and develop a team of accounting professionals, including goal setting and performance management
  • Coordinate with the Associate Controller on internal and external audit requests
  • Collaborate with the Office of Sponsored Research Administration on system configuration and reporting best practices
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and service delivery

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 5–10 years of professional experience in Accounting or Finance
  • Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP and FASB standards
  • Knowledge of U.S. Uniform Guidance and federal grant compliance requirements
  • Proven supervisory and team leadership experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in higher education accounting or managing sponsored programs
  • Experience with Workday Financial Management
