Director of Accounting

Responsibilities

• Set strategic direction for the management company accounting function and manage a high-performing team
• Serve as a senior thought partner to the Controller and executive leadership on financial reporting and policy
• Own the end-to-end financial reporting cycle for all management company entities, including monthly/annual close and multi-currency reporting
• Provide technical accounting guidance and lead the development of accounting policies
• Define and enforce the internal control framework and serve as the primary liaison to external auditors
• Lead the evaluation and redesign of accounting processes and champion automation initiatives

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Minimum of 12–15 years of progressive accounting experience
• 3–5 years in a senior leadership or director-level role
• Deep technical knowledge of US GAAP
• Experience with multi-entity, multi-currency consolidation and intercompany eliminations
• Significant experience in the alternative investment management industry

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA certification
• Big 4 or large public accounting firm experience
• Familiarity with partnership and fund structures
• Experience with NetSuite ERP
