Director, Middle Market M&A

Responsibilities

• Lead middle market M&A activities by cultivating and maintaining deep relationships with new and existing clients.
• Act as a key member of the deal team, managing the negotiation and structuring of complex financial transactions.
• Create client pitch books and lead professional presentations for financial solutions.
• Conduct thorough due diligence, including business model analysis, industry trend reviews, and regulatory assessments.
• Develop sophisticated financial models to analyze client portfolios, anticipate needs, and support strategic recommendations.
• Collaborate with sector coverage partners and specialists to deliver creative, timely, and integrated banking solutions.
• Monitor client industries and regulatory changes to proactively manage risk and identify new business opportunities.
• Drive cross-selling initiatives across the firm to maximize sector penetration and client wallet share.

Requirements

• 9+ years of relevant experience in investment banking, including experience negotiating and structuring financial transactions.
• 7+ years of overall relevant professional experience.
• Post-secondary degree in finance, economics, or accounting.
• Expertise in financial computer applications and database management tools.
• Proven ability to manage ambiguity and make data-driven decisions in complex environments.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication, influence, and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• MBA or CFA designation.
• Relevant experience in the business services sector.
• Experience developing business within a corporate lending environment.
