About the role

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic merchandise financial plans to support company profit objectives, including sales, gross margin, and inventory plans.
  • Lead the planning and merchandising team by utilizing historical data and current trends to identify risks and capitalize on new opportunities.
  • Partner closely with allocation, production, and merchandising teams to ensure product strategies are executed effectively at the store level.
  • Manage weekly business reviews, including forecasting, markdown recommendations, and inventory reflowing.
  • Lead the buy review process, setting sales, margin, and flow goals to ensure appropriate assortment breadth and depth.
  • Train, develop, and manage direct reports to support succession planning and create a collaborative team environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 5-7 years of merchandise planning experience and 7-10 years of total professional work experience.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills with experience in strategic forecasting and financial planning.
  • Proven experience leading and developing a team of at least 3 direct reports.
  • Excellent project management and communication skills, with the ability to present complex material to senior management.
  • Proficiency in planning and allocation systems and advanced Microsoft applications.
