Director, MedTech General Surgery Clinical Affairs

Responsibilities

• Provide senior clinical leadership and oversight for general surgery clinical trials, including feasibility, execution, and closeout
• Ensure clinical strategy and study design are appropriate for surgical therapies, implantable devices, and regulatory pathways
• Act as the primary clinical point of contact for sponsors, providing data-driven updates and managing deliverables
• Oversee protocol development and study documentation to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance
• Lead, mentor, and manage the professional development of Project Managers, CRAs, and CTAs
• Collaborate with business development teams on proposals and bid defenses to expand general surgery service offerings
• Ensure adherence to GCP, SOPs, and surgical therapy-specific regulatory requirements

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, life sciences, or a related discipline
• 7–10+ years of experience in clinical research
• 5+ years of direct experience supporting general surgery or surgical therapy clinical trials
• 4+ years of people leadership or supervisory experience within a CRO or clinical research environment
• Deep expertise in GCP and regulatory requirements for surgical and device-enabled therapies
• Experience with EDC, CTMS, and other clinical management systems
• Subject matter expertise in areas such as robotics, oncology, or breast reconstruction
