Director, Materials APAC

Responsibilities

• Build direct relationships with material vendors to create a Preferred Vendor List (PSL)
• Develop partnerships with source factories to improve operational performance on raw material purchases
• Establish processes to measure and report global demand for materials and components
• Lead material spend-analytics and commodity indexing to support sourcing strategy
• Drive productivity targets for cost reduction in partnership with vendor partners
• Deploy dual-source and localization strategies
• Develop a global vendor certification process and a Vendor Report Card system
• Implement Kanban, pull systems, and lead-time reduction programs
• Partner with internal groups to ensure CSR and environmental testing compliance

Requirements

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in Materials Management and/or Purchasing
• Experience leading materials or procurement organizations in CPG or FMCG industries
• Experience building supplier management portals for collaboration and tracking
• Bachelor’s degree required
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
• Excellent negotiation and project management skills
• Fluency in English and Mandarin
• Ability to perform domestic and international travel
