Director – Market Data Commercial Management

Responsibilities

• Lead commercial negotiations with major market data vendors to ensure favorable terms and risk mitigation.
• Manage a portfolio of strategic vendors, contracts, and product categories.
• Act as a senior relationship manager for Front Office stakeholders, including trading desks, quantitative teams, and technology partners.
• Translate complex business requirements into effective market data sourcing recommendations and engagement strategies.
• Contribute to the development of market data strategy, vendor rationalization, and cost optimization initiatives.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and performance management to a high-performing team.
• Support the design and operation of market data governance forums to ensure evidence-based decision-making.

Requirements

• Significant experience in Market Data, Investment Banking, or a related commercial management role.
• Proven track record of managing major market data vendors and negotiating multimillion-dollar global contracts.
• Deep understanding of market data licensing, usage rights, redistribution restrictions, and exchange policies.
• Experience managing senior business stakeholders and acting as a trusted commercial advisor.
• Demonstrated people management experience, including coaching and team development.
• Strong understanding of market data inventory, cost allocation, and vendor governance processes.
