Director – Market Data Commercial Management

Responsibilities

• Lead commercial negotiations with major market data vendors to ensure favorable terms and risk mitigation.
• Manage a portfolio of strategic vendors, contracts, and product categories.
• Own and manage senior relationships with trading desks, quantitative teams, research teams, and technology stakeholders.
• Translate complex business requirements into clear market data needs and sourcing recommendations.
• Contribute to the development of market data strategy, including vendor rationalization and cost optimization.
• Provide direction, coaching, and performance management to a high-performing team.
• Act as a senior escalation point for contractual and commercial matters.

Requirements

• Significant experience in Market Data, Financial Markets, Investment Banking, or Vendor Management.
• Proven track record of managing major market data vendors and complex commercial negotiations.
• Experience negotiating multimillion-pound/dollar regional or global contracts.
• Deep understanding of market data licensing, usage rights, exchange policies, and vendor audit risks.
• Experience managing senior business stakeholders and acting as a trusted commercial advisor.
• Demonstrated people management experience, including coaching and team development.
• Strong understanding of market data inventory, cost allocation, and vendor governance.
