Director, Manufacturing Legal Counsel

Responsibilities

• Manage the contracting process for Sanford-related agreements including review, negotiation, approval, and execution
• Partner with stakeholders to support drafting and negotiation of manufacturing, construction, consulting, equipment, supply, and operations agreements
• Provide practical legal guidance on laws and regulations applicable to pharmaceutical manufacturing operations
• Support Human Resources on employment and employee relations matters
• Serve as a member of the Sanford site Senior Leadership Team and embedded legal advisor
• Coordinate the work of paralegals and outside counsel

Requirements

• Juris Doctorate degree from an Accredited Law School
• Admission in good standing to at least one U.S. state bar
• Eligibility for North Carolina in-house registration
• 4–8 years of legal experience, preferably in manufacturing, construction, or operations in a regulated industry
• Law firm experience required
• Experience drafting and negotiating MSAs, SOWs, NDAs, and supply agreements
• Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite

Preferred Qualifications

• Life science experience
• In-house legal experience
• Experience with cross-functional and international teams
• Experience using contract management systems
• Understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing operations and regulatory environments
• Foundational understanding of employment law
• Experience supporting start-up or greenfield operational environments
