Director, Major Gifts

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of approximately 120+ major gift prospects, focusing on securing gifts in the $250,000 to $1M+ range.
• Develop and implement tailored cultivation and solicitation strategies for alumni, parents, and friends.
• Partner with faculty and programmatic leaders to create interdisciplinary strategic funding opportunities in areas such as engineering and computer science.
• Collaborate with the One Northeastern advancement team to support regional development plans and achieve annual fundraising goals.
• Utilize data-driven prospect management systems to discover new prospects and build a robust gift pipeline.
• Maintain high-quality development processes, including creating call reports and ensuring data integrity within the database.
• Travel to designated regions to build relationships with existing volunteers, prospects, and donors.

Requirements

• 5-7 years of progressive fundraising experience.
• Demonstrated success in securing six-figure gifts.
• Experience managing complex projects and strategic volunteer engagement.
• Proven ability to work through interdisciplinary collaboration and manage donor relationships.
• Comfort working in an entrepreneurial environment with high levels of autonomy.

Preferred Qualifications

• Background in higher education, cultural institutions, healthcare, or other complex nonprofit organizations.
