Director, Litigation EMEA

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement internal processes to support compliance with global regulatory obligations
• Work closely with global litigation and competition counsel in the US and other regions
• Represent SIE's interests before authorities and agencies
• Manage litigation and regulatory matters, partnering with outside counsel and managing budgets
• Perform periodic risk assessments under competition and consumer protection laws
• Implement worldwide business and policy strategies
• Assist with developing policies and guidelines for the business and legal department
• Provide in-person and virtual trainings on competition laws and regulatory requirements
• Partner with Government Affairs on public policy initiatives

Requirements

• 15+ years post-qualification experience (PQE)
• Substantial experience leading complex litigation matters
• Exposure to advising on competition and/or regulatory issues in large-scale environments
• Qualified lawyer in the UK with EMEA or global jurisdictional experience
• Excellent understanding of litigation risk and a strategic/commercial mindset
• Experience responding to subpoenas, RFIs, CIDs, and interview requests from authorities
• Strong understanding of competition law principles
• Data-driven mentality with ability to navigate ambiguity
• Understanding of policy-making processes and government relations
