Director, Legal Counsel

Responsibilities

• Review, draft, and negotiate supplier and customer-facing agreements governed by Korean law
• Provide proactive legal advice to local sourcing, sales, services, and operations stakeholders
• Act as the primary in-country legal point of contact for ASM in Korea
• Coordinate with the global commercial legal team to ensure alignment with global contracting practices
• Instruct and manage external counsel for specialized legal matters
• Monitor Korean regulatory developments, including semiconductor-related legislation and privacy requirements
• Support local governance and advise on Korean employment law matters in partnership with the People Team

Requirements

• Qualified lawyer in Korea (or equivalent with strong Korean law expertise)
• Minimum 7 years of relevant legal experience
• Strong background in commercial and contract law
• Fluency in both Korean and English
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a global, cross-functional environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience working in-house
• Experience with Korean employment law and regulatory matters
