About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership for core HR operations, employee data integrity, and front-line service delivery.
  • Supervise HR operations and student employment staff, managing performance, coaching, and professional development.
  • Ensure accurate and compliant processing of personnel, pay, and benefits-related actions for faculty, staff, and students.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce errors, and enhance the user experience.
  • Serve as the functional HR lead for system enhancements, upgrades, user acceptance testing, and HR technology alignment.
  • Partner with IT and Institutional Research to support enterprise data governance and institutional reporting needs.
  • Maintain HR business continuity plans and operational safeguards to ensure service during emergencies or system outages.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Proven leadership in HR operations, shared services, or employee data management.
  • Demonstrated experience managing operational processes with a focus on accuracy, compliance, and service orientation.
  • Strong understanding of records management, employment processes, and data integrity.
  • Ability to lead through ambiguity and work effectively in a collaborative, matrixed environment.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree.
  • Experience in higher education or a similarly complex, mission-driven environment.
  • Familiarity with Banner or similar ERP systems from a functional or operational leadership perspective.
  • Experience partnering with IT, payroll, finance, or data governance functions.
  • Experience leading teams through organizational or technology transformations.
