About the role
Responsibilities
- Oversee full-cycle recruitment, onboarding, and appointment processes for staff, faculty, researchers, and students.
- Manage day-to-day HR and faculty affairs operations, including payroll processing and time-off tracking via TLAM and PeopleSoft.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to leadership on HR strategy, policy interpretation, and employee relations.
- Maintain accurate personnel and payroll records while ensuring strict confidentiality and regulatory compliance.
- Coordinate with ISSO to manage employee visa sponsorship and immigration compliance processes.
- Lead HR initiatives, special projects, and process improvement efforts to enhance operational effectiveness.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience.
- Minimum of 4 years of progressively responsible experience in human resources, faculty affairs, or academic administration.
- Strong knowledge of human resource principles, practices, and employment regulations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and HR systems such as PeopleSoft and TalentLink.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field, or professional certification.
- Previous experience working within a higher education or academic medical center environment.
- Experience providing direct advisory support to leadership regarding HR operations and policy.
