About the Company

The Administration for Children’s Services (ACS) protects and promotes the safety and well-being of children and families through child welfare and juvenile justice services and community supports. The Division of Youth and Family Justice (DYFJ) provides a wide range of services and programs for youth at every stage of the juvenile justice process.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and conduct analyses of facility staffing to ensure balanced allocation across work tours
• Work with the Executive Director to monitor administrative contracts and submit procurement requests
• Manage performance and learning for the Detention center, including professional development and mandated trainings
• Manage the Housekeeping Unit responsible for daily cleaning, painting, and laundry services
• Coordinate with other ACS divisions regarding repairs, facility maintenance, and building security
• Coordinate with Crossroads counterpart on new initiatives and process improvement
• Work collaboratively with the ACS Employment Law Unit on disciplinary referrals
• Liaise with ACS Human Resources regarding timekeeping, workers’ compensation, and employee clearances
• Liaise with oversight agencies including the NYC Department of Investigation and NYS Justice Center
• Support development of goals and metrics for the facility
• Monitor and assist with facility operations, programs, and special projects

Requirements

• Master's degree in social work with four years of professional experience in a child care institution, including two years in administration; OR
• Master's degree in sociology, psychology, education, public administration, or related field with five years of professional experience in a child care setting, including two years in administration; OR
• Equivalent education and experience, provided there are at least two years of administrative experience in a child care setting
