About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead the ground-up development of cutting edge electronics and mechanical hardware for the Terran R launch vehicle
  • Manage teams designing PCBA, power electronics, digital electronics, mixed signal electronics, and RF design
  • Oversee mechanical hardware development including enclosures, trays, isolators, brackets, and thermal management systems
  • Drive avionics hardware through the full product lifecycle from requirements and architecture to manufacturing and operations
  • Lead and develop engineering managers and technical teams across multiple disciplines
  • Collaborate with propulsion, GNC, fluids, and stage engineering teams to ensure seamless system integration

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, or aerospace engineering, or a related field
  • 10+ years of experience developing electrical and mechanical hardware for mission-critical applications (aviation, space, or robotics)
  • 7+ years of experience leading engineering teams
  • Proven experience leading and developing engineering leaders
  • Experience driving hardware development through the full product lifecycle

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency with electrical CAD tools like Altium and mechanical CAD tools like NX
  • Experience with embedded software development
  • Experience with environmental test equipment such as thermal chambers, shaker tables, and TVAC chambers
  • Experience with design and test for EMC and radiation effects
  • Familiarity with electrical, mechanical, and thermal analysis techniques and tools
