About the role
Responsibilities
- Adjudicate and authorize credit requests up to assigned limits, ensuring adherence to bank policy and risk appetite.
- Evaluate financial and non-financial risks to provide accurate client risk profiling and challenge banking strategies.
- Monitor changes in client creditworthiness and recommend appropriate courses of action.
- Participate in risk committees and deal forums, acting as a strategic advisor to the Banking business line.
- Collaborate with Banking teams to ensure a cohesive client experience and meet established SLA parameters.
- Supervise the validation of critical data elements in credit systems to ensure accurate capital and provision reporting.
- Proactively monitor early warning signs and market trends to manage the assigned portfolio effectively.
- Lead and coach a team of credit officers, fostering a culture of risk awareness and accountability.
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in financial analysis or credit adjudication.
- Post-secondary degree in business or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
- Expert understanding of security documentation, legal ramifications, and legal remedies.
- Proven leadership and coaching skills, specifically in managing credit professionals.
- Advanced proficiency in English (written and oral).
- Strong ability to make decisions under uncertainty and communicate rationale clearly.
