Director, GRM Canadian Commercial

Responsibilities

• Adjudicate and authorize credit requests up to assigned limits, ensuring adherence to bank policy and risk appetite.
• Evaluate financial and non-financial risks to provide accurate client risk profiling and challenge banking strategies.
• Monitor changes in client creditworthiness and recommend appropriate courses of action.
• Participate in risk committees and deal forums, acting as a strategic advisor to the Banking business line.
• Collaborate with Banking teams to ensure a cohesive client experience and meet established SLA parameters.
• Supervise the validation of critical data elements in credit systems to ensure accurate capital and provision reporting.
• Proactively monitor early warning signs and market trends to manage the assigned portfolio effectively.
• Lead and coach a team of credit officers, fostering a culture of risk awareness and accountability.

Requirements

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in financial analysis or credit adjudication.
• Post-secondary degree in business or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
• Expert understanding of security documentation, legal ramifications, and legal remedies.
• Proven leadership and coaching skills, specifically in managing credit professionals.
• Advanced proficiency in English (written and oral).
• Strong ability to make decisions under uncertainty and communicate rationale clearly.
