Director Government Relations

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a government relations strategy aligned with business priorities in Italy and Southern European states.
• Build and maintain trusted relationships with the Italian Prime Minister's office, key Ministers (Defence, Infrastructure, Foreign Affairs), Members of Parliament, and regulators.
• Advocate for policies and regulatory outcomes supporting commercial aviation safety, defence capability, and supply-chain resilience.
• Monitor and proactively respond to legislative and policy developments affecting the aerospace and defence sectors.
• Coordinate regional engagement with broader European and international aerospace policy priorities.
• Serve as a strategic advisor to business leaders regarding government affairs risks and stakeholder engagement.
• Represent the company in industry forums, coalitions, and events.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in government relations or policy advocacy within the aerospace and defence sector.
• Deep understanding of Italian political institutions and legislative processes.
• Proven expertise in policy development, contracts, and budgets with the Ministry of Defence.
• Demonstrated experience influencing high-level policy and shaping regulatory outcomes.
• Ability to engage with the Italian Civil Aviation Authority, Italian Trade Agency, and Unit for Authorizing Arms Exports.
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
• Fluency in both Italian and English is required.
