About the role
Responsibilities
- Develop and lead coordinated federal advocacy strategies to promote GRAIL’s mission across Congress, federal agencies, and industry coalitions.
- Build and sustain high-impact relationships with Members of Congress, key committee staff, and executive branch officials.
- Monitor and analyze legislative and regulatory developments in healthcare, diagnostics, reimbursement, and innovation policy.
- Work with internal teams and external consultants to ensure consistent strategic messaging aligned with corporate and scientific priorities.
- Represent GRAIL in industry trade associations and policy forums to shape innovation-friendly frameworks for diagnostics.
- Translate complex science and technology into compelling policy narratives that resonate with national health priorities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and 15+ years of experience in federal legislative affairs, preferably in healthcare, diagnostics, or life sciences.
- Proven track record navigating the federal legislative process and the interplay between Congress and the Executive Branch.
- Deep familiarity with healthcare coverage, reimbursement, and innovation policy, including Medicare.
- Established network of relationships in Congress and across key industry trade associations.
- Experience working with federal agencies such as CMS, FDA, and NIH.
- Exceptional ability to anticipate political trends and craft proactive strategies.
- Strong strategic communication skills with the ability to translate complex science into policy language.
