Director, Global Markets Corporate Banking - Insurance specialist

Responsibilities

• Manage credit risk and returns as a key member of the Global Markets portfolio management team
• Provide credit underwriting expertise for the insurance sector, including US, Canadian, and international insurers
• Originate and underwrite non-lending Corporate Banking products such as derivatives, securities financing, and cash products
• Prepare comprehensive credit documentation, including applications, memoranda, and presentations for stakeholders
• Monitor client performance, industry trends, and regulatory changes affecting the insurance portfolio
• Oversee the workload and initiatives of Business Analysts, Analysts, and Associates
• Act as a first line of defense to ensure a strong risk culture and adherence to compliance standards
• Build and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders and external clients

Requirements

• Graduate degree in Finance, CFA, or MBA
• 8-10+ years of credit analysis experience specifically covering the insurance sector (domestic and international)
• Deep expertise in bank and non-bank financial institution due diligence
• Strong knowledge of derivative products and market risk concepts
• Understanding of trading products documentation, including ISDA/CSA and GMRA
• Proven ability to manage complex transactions involving credit, market, operational, and legal risks
• Excellent verbal presentation and written communication skills
