Director, Forward Deployed Engineering

Responsibilities

• Serve as the senior technical voice in customer-facing engagements, including enterprise sales cycles and architecture reviews.
• Support Sales during RFP and RFI processes with technical responses.
• Lead technical discovery sessions to assess integration requirements and define deployment scope.
• Translate customer use case requirements into technical specs for AI agent development.
• Develop reference integration architectures for CRM systems, EHR, and contact center platforms.
• Design secure API-first integration patterns including REST APIs and webhooks.
• Navigate pharma IT security reviews and vendor qualification processes in collaboration with the CISO.
• Define and operationalize a repeatable deployment methodology for life sciences implementations.
• Grow and develop a talent-dense team of Forward Deployed Engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical discipline (Computer Science, Engineering, Health Informatics, or Life Sciences).
• 10+ years of experience in enterprise technical integration, forward deployment, or solution engineering.
• 5+ years of experience building and managing a team of engineers.
• Strong technical fluency in API design, integration patterns, and cloud infrastructure.
• Proven ability to engage with enterprise CTOs, CISOs, and IT governance teams.
• Ability to work in high-growth, fast-paced environments with ambiguous requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience deploying AI, machine learning, or conversational AI platforms.
• Experience navigating enterprise IT security reviews (SOC 2, HIPAA, SIG).
• Knowledge of pharma IT ecosystems (Veeva, Salesforce Health Cloud, EHR systems).
• Startup or early-stage company experience.
