They combine AI-driven discovery with proprietary bioprocessing to develop clinically proven active ingredients that outperform conventionally sourced alternatives, controlling the full value chain from molecule to market.
Responsibilities
- Own and drive Debut’s West Coast formulation sales strategy to achieve revenue targets across prestige, masstige, and indie beauty segments.
- Leverage an existing network of decision-maker relationships at major beauty brands to secure formulation briefs and accelerate commercial cycles.
- Lead the full formulation sales cycle from initial engagement through briefing, proposal, sampling, pricing, and first production purchase order.
- Develop deep understanding of brand NPD roadmaps to translate intelligence into tailored product proposals.
- Represent Debut at US and international industry trade shows and brand summits.
- Maintain a rigorous sales pipeline in CRM, providing visibility into project status and revenue forecasts.
- Serve as a trusted commercial partner to brand customers throughout the product development lifecycle.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in sales or beauty product development within contract manufacturing or ingredient sales.
- Proven track record of selling formulation or custom development services directly to beauty brands.
- Established, active network of decision-maker relationships at major West Coast-headquartered beauty brands.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Strong technical fluency to engage with R&D teams regarding formulation performance and ingredient claims.
- Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed revenue targets in a B2B sales role.
- Proficiency with CRM platforms like Salesforce or Monday.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in cosmetic science, chemistry, or product development.
- Experience working in or alongside an early-stage, high-growth company.
